Kilmallock and Na Piarsaigh prepare for Limerick senior hurling final

It will be the first meeting in the final between the senior hurling heavyweights since 2022
THE WHITEBOX Limerick Senior Hurling Championship final is just six days away with Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock set to face off at the TUS Gaelic Grounds and the game will be shown live on TG4 at 3.45pm.
It is the first meeting of the two Limerick senior hurling giants in the decider since 2022, a game that Na Piarsaigh won on a 3-23 to 2-15 scoreline.
It will be the fourth time that the two will have met in the final, Na Piarsiagh earned that victory four years ago, as well as in 2017. Kilmallock’s sole win over the Caherdavin side came in the 2014 final.
Preparations are well underway for the marquee day in the Limerick hurling calendar with a healthy crowd expected at Limerick GAA HQ. The Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship final between Bruff and Dromin-Athlacca will also take place at the TUS Gaelic Grounds this coming Sunday. That has a 1.30pm start.
Elsewhere, there will be a first time pairing in the Irish Wire Products Limerick Senior Football Championship final following Saturday’s semi-final.
Kildimo-Pallaskenry will face off against Fr Casey’s in the final at Mick Neville Park on November 1 after both sides came through their games with Mungret St Pauls and Monaleen respectively.
Declan Nash’s Kildimo-Pallaskenry side pulled off a huge shock with a 2-16 to 0-20 win over holders Mungret after extra time. Conor Staff’s goal proved decisive for the city division side after an epic contest that Kildimo-Pallaskenry deserved to come out on the right side of.
They will take on an in-form Fr Casey’s outfit in the final after their straightforward win over Monaleen. Goals from Eliah Riordan, Rory O’Brien and Adrian Enright fired the Abbeyfeale men to an impressive win. Elsewhere, Oola will be playing senior football again next year after a 2-14 to 1-14 win over Ballylanders in the relegation play-off.
The Griffin Coaches Intermediate Football Championship semi-finals also took place across the weekend with Na Piarsaigh and Galbally making their way through and will meet in the final.
Na Piarsaigh came through on penalties against Cappagh, while Galbally had three points to spare against Drom-Broadford.
