The east Limerick side scored an emphatic 3-11 to 1-6 victory over Cooraclare in Ballybricken in their Munster semi-final

LIMERICK senior champions St Ailbes are in Munster intermediate final action on Sunday when they take on Inch Rovers in Mallow at 1pm.

Ailbes are no strangers to provincial competition having won three county titles in a row.

It is the second time in three years that they have reached this final. In 2024, it was Cork opposition who stopped them, O’Donovan Rossa taking the title with a 0-10 to 0-7 win.

Last year saw a heavy defeat at the first hurdle against Moycarkey-Borris of Tipperary.

However, this time around the east Limerick side scored an emphatic 3-11 to 1-6 victory over Cooraclare in Ballybricken in their Munster semi-final, Georgia Keane scoring 3-6 en route to this final.

Keane was also the goal-scorer in the county final success over Ballylanders as Brian Egan’s side eye a Munster title.

The Cork side had Sorcha O’Rourke impress scoring 1-7 in their county intermediate final where they were 2-17 to 2-7 winners over Bride Rovers. Orlaith Murphy contributed 1-2 for the Killeagh side.

They also appeared in three All-Ireland senior club finals between 2007 and 2010 - winning the decider 16 years ago against Mayo side Carnacon, the side who defeated them in their first two finals.
