AFTER securing a return to senior football locally, Na Piarsaigh take the first step today in their bid to return to a Munster Intermediate Football Championship final.
The Caherdavin club are one of six Limerick sides to reach the IFC final. In 2022, they defeated Ballina before losing out to Rathmore in the Munster final.
Their other previous venture into provincial football action, saw them receive a walk-over against Tipperary opponents before losing to Cork’s Valley Rovers in the semi-final.
Tipp opposition are in sight once again for the Caherdavin men who face Killenaule at the Clonmel Sportsfield on Sunday at 1.15pm.
The South Tipp men had a brace of goals from Killian O’Dwyer as they overcame the challenge of Golden-Kilfeacle in their local intermediate final.
Premier footballer Paudie Feehan also lines out for the men in red with the yellow trim who have former Tipp hurler John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer between the sticks.
Many observers make this game too close to call as the city club look to keep their momentum going after an impressive run in the local championship.
Kieran Daly and Mark Hogan got the goals against Galbally - and similar efforts in front of goal will be needed on Sunday.
