LeaderSport selects the team of the Irish Wire Products Senior Football Championship

GAA Coverage in association with Lyons of Limerick Ford

Goalkeeper: Kevin Walsh (Kildimo-Pallaskenry)

Honorable mention: Donie Nolan (St Kierans)

KEVIN Walsh was solid as the last line of defence in Kildimo-Pallaskenry’s historic run to the final. A worthy selection on this team.

Full-back line: Cian O’Sullivan (Kildimo-Pallaskenry), Seán Kilbridge (Fr Caseys), Mark McCarthy (Fr Caseys)

Honorable mention: Paudie Mulcaire (Rathkeale)

DEFENCE wins Championships, the Americans say so it’s no wonder two of our full-back line are from the victorious Fr Caseys team. Kilbridge and McCarthy were firm at the back all year as the Abbeyfeale men ended the SFC with a 100% record.

Half-back line: Tadhg Ó Siochrú (Monaleen), Diarmuid Buckley (Fr Caseys), Adam Shanagher (Rathkeale)

Honorable mention: Tony McCarthy (Kildimo-Pallaskenry)

TADHG Ó Siochrú and Adam Shanagher covered some ground when their clubs met in the county quarter-final. Both are the modern style attacking wing-backs. Diarmuid Buckley was a real leader for Fr Caseys all campaign long.

Midfield: Sam Quigley (Fr Caseys), Barry Coleman (Rathkeale)

Honorable mention: Liam Kennedy (St Kierans)

TWO standout performers throughout the championship. Both well able to help the defence but also be the launchpad for attacks.

Half-forward line: Bob Childs (Galtee Gaels), Eliah Riordan (Fr Caseys), Cathal Downes (Kildimo-Pallaskenry)

Honorable mention: Diarmuid Hynes (Mungret-St Pauls)

BOB Childs was one of the top performers in the first half of the championship. Struggling with injury, he powered on and proved why he is so valuable to club and county.

Riordan added to his reputation as one of the top kickers in the local game while Downes also showed great ability from outside the arc.

Full-forward line: Shane Barry (Mungret-St Pauls), Darragh Murray (Monaleen), Paddy Ryan (Oola)

Honorable mention: Ronan Quirke (Fr Caseys), Peter Nash (Kildimo-Pallaskenry).

OUR full-forward line were among the top-scorers in the SFC this year with Paddy Ryan taking the golden boot award.
