Limerick boxers Edward Donovan and Kian Hedderman will take part in JB Promotion’s Judgement Day in Dublin’s National Arena on September 26

The feel-good boxing factor in Ireland is set to continue later this month when ‘Judgement Day’ comes to Dublin’s National Arena on September 26 courtesy of JB Promotions.

It has been an extremely busy period for Irish boxing of late, with Katie Taylor’s farewell bout with Flora Pili a fortnight ago the obvious pick of bunch.

The Bray native secured a fairytale ending in a sold-out Croke Park on September 5, defeating Pili convincingly at GAA HQ.

There was also some Limerick interest on the undercard.

Paddy Donovan defeated Belfast native Tyrone McKenna by a fourth-round technical knockout.

It was an awesome performance by the Limerick man who dropped McKenna with a left uppercut in the second round before dominating the pace until the stoppage.

Donovan ultimately won via TKO in the fourth round after a severe cut forced the ringside doctor to wave off the fight.

The win moves Limerick's Paddy Donovan closer to a shot at the IBF welterweight title.

With some major contests, including three Irish domestic contests confirmed for September 26, Judgement Day is shaping up to be one of the most competitive professional boxing cards staged in Ireland this year.

Paddy’s brother, Edward, will be looking to showcase his skills inside the ring when he faces off against Dublin’s Peter Carr on at the National Arena in a fortnight’s time.

The ‘Dominator’ boasts a professional record of 7-2-0 and will be looking to add an eight win against Carr, who will provide a stern test to the Treaty native.

Limerick’s Kian Hedderman has also been confirmed to be taking part in the event, although an opponent is not confirmed as of yet.

The card will be headlined by two title fights.

Offaly's Paul Loonam (7-0) faces Belfast's Rudi Farrell (8-2-1) for the Irish super-bantamweight championship.

Dublin's Richie O'Leary (4-0) aims to claim the BUI Celtic super-welterweight title five months after winning the middleweight belt. He faces Bray's Oisín Treacy (6-0).
