League leaders and newly promoted Limerick Eagles will host Griffith College Éanna in round three of the Domino’s Men’s Super League

Limerick Eagles v Griffith College Éanna, Saturday 4pm, UL Arena

Newly promoted Limerick Eagles stand tall at the top of the Domino’s Men’s Super League following opening wins against St. Vincent’s and defending champions Ballincollig. Niall McDermott’s men have averaged more points per game than any team, putting up 213 points over two games. Alex Carlisle has been the clear scoring threat for Limerick Eagles, averaging 33 points per game, while Tobias Christensen has led the charge in assists with 14 in two games.

Griffith College Éanna fell short to UCC Demons in gameweek one, only to turn the screw in week two and defeat Garvey’s Tralee Warriors in Coláiste Éanna. It wasn’t a pretty contest lastweekend, as Griffith College Éanna took a 77-75 win in a tight contest. Éanna's American signings Morgan Taylor and Nick Hopkins have proved to be crucial for Gareth Winder’s side, while Irish guard Cathal O’Sullivan continues to impress the league, averaging over 18 points per game.

“We are happy with the win over a very tough Tralee team. It went to the wire, and we were able to close it out. Obviously, we will take the learnings from that game as all teams do,” said Winders.

“Limerick Eagles pose a difficult challenge unbeaten. Sitting top of the table with a 2-0 record – they're a very talented team. They play a very strong zone defence that is difficult and can be hard to break down. We will be ready to bring a strong performance to them on Saturday.”

Limerick Celtics v EJ Sligo All-Stars, Saturday 7pm, UL Arena

Only one position separates Limerick Celtics and EJ Sligo All-Stars in the Domino’s Men’s Super League before their clash this weekend at UL Arena. Limerick Celtics are coming into round three off the back of a 98-88 win against Energywise Ireland Neptune, where Callum Keyes and Sebastian Cole shone brightest for Tony Hehir’s side.

EJ Sligo All-Stars welcomed UCC Demons to Connacht on the weekend, where the home team ran away 100-88 winners. A monstrous defensive display kept Demons’ Elijah Tillman and Asanti Price quiet, while Miles Brown led the scoring charge for Sligo down the other end.

In the 2025/26 season, EJ Sligo All-Stars got early bragging rights over Limerick Celtics, with an 88-86 win at Mercy College. Limerick Celtics took the game to Sligo at Crescent College in their second encounter, coming away 114-103 winners at home.

Limerick Celtics Women v Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers, Saturday 3pm, Crescent College

Limerick Celtics and Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers sit ninth and tenth in the league respectively, as both teams are yet to pick up a win this season. The newly promoted Limerick Celtics travelled to FloMAX Liffey Celtics in week one, where they came away with a 77-63 loss before taking on Brunell in week two where they came out the wrong side of an 88-70 scoreline.

Portlaoise Panthers have started the season with a 22-point loss to VSC Cavan Eagles and a 26-point loss to Career Decision’s UCC Glanmire; however, head coach Ger Jago believes their first win isn’t too far way.

“Looking at the opening two games of the season, I feel that we're still settling in and still getting to know each other as a team and coaching staff. We are improving game on game despite scorelines and we're taking a lot of positives away from what we've done defensively and offensively,” said Jago.

“I feel that the squad are growing and getting closer, and I feel that our first win isn't too far away just based on the opening two games and the improvements that we've made. Limerick Celtics obviously have the bounce from coming up from Division One which always gives you a bit of energy. They’re a young squad with good Irish players in the Buckley’s (Amy and Laura) and Sabhbh Edwards Murphy. I feel that if we can shut down their shooters, it will really help us. I feel like it's going to be a very close game this weekend just based on those two squads.”

Catalyst Fr Mathew’s v Limerick Sport Huskies, Saturday 5pm, Fr Mathew’s Arena

In Domino’s Women’s Division One action, the Limerick Sport Huskies will be looking to continue their scintillating start when they make the short trip to Cork to face Fr Matthews.

The Huskies opened their 2026/27 account with a comprehensive 83-51 win over Dublin’s Moy Tolka Rovers in Limerick.

Last year’s cup champions made it back-to-back wins last weekend with a Munster derby win over Tralee in The Kingdom.

A 61-50 win maintained a perfect 100% start for Tommy Walshh’s side who face more Munster opposition on Saturday evening at the Fr Matthew’s Arena.

The Leesiders also boast a perfect start to the season with two wins over the Dublin Raiders and the Abbey Seals Dublin Lions.

It is sure to be a mouth-watering clash in Cork with one of these sides certain to relinquish that perfect start.
