Dickie Donnelly, Max, Jason Ronan, Leo and Tara Downes, Ulla at the launch of The Producers
SIDE splitting humour and entertainment is guaranteed as The Cecilian Musical Society tackle one of the best loved of all Broadway musicals.
The Cecilians take on Mel Brooks’ outrageous farce The Producers ahead of the society’s centenary next year, following the sell-out success of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2017.
The tale of Max Bialystock and his nervy accountant Leo Bloom who come up with a daring scheme to oversell Broadway’s biggest flop and get rich in the process, was at the heart of a much loved musical that won a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards in its original form and starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.
The cast for the Limerick production includes Dickie Donnelly, Jason Ronan, Tara Downes, Brian Henry, James Malone and Barry Danaher.
The Cecilians and their award-winning production team of director Des Henn, choreographer Barbara Meany and musical director Michael Young return to the Lime Tree Theatre from November 28 to December 1 with the much anticipated show.
