Limerick Youth Dance to perform The Selfish Giantess

LIMERICK Youth Dance are gearing up to present a new dance theatre piece for young audiences this Saturday.

The Selfish Giantess will be performed by the youth dance ensemble at Dance Limerick in St John’s Church on Saturday at 1pm and at just 30 minutes in duration, will leave plenty of time for those families going to the Munster match in Thomond Park.

Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s well-known short story of the same name and gently exploring the circle of life, the young dancers reflect the changing seasons, friendship and kindness through movement and dance.

Dance Limerick director Jenny Traynor said that The Selfish Giantess was “a wonderful opportunity for families to come and enjoy a new performance created by young dancers from Limerick.

“It’s very exciting to see the members of Limerick Youth Dance exploring a story for children by Oscar Wilde.

“We’re very proud of the hard work they have put in all term preparing and we can’t wait to see their final performance," she said.
