Killaloe Chamber Music Festival back this June

Joachim Roewer, Killaloe Chamber Music Festival

THE popular Killaloe Chamber Music Festival returns for a fourth outing next week, featuring renowned pianist Finghin Collins, among others.

The festival, taking place from June 10 – 12, is overseen by Artistic Director Joachim Roewer, originally from East Berlin but who has been living in Killaloe for the past 20 years and is lead violist with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

All concerts will be held in the historic St Flannan’s Cathedral and in Wood Brothers’ Café, right in the heart of the village, with the three main evening concerts to bring music fans on a journey through time with early works by Vivaldi, Teleman and Froberger right through to the present day.

Saturday’s programme will have an Emerging Artists Platform, while Sunday will include a lecture by musicologist Michael Murphy with the annual children’s concert, Let’s Play Together.
