The festival of the “curious mind” returns to the city this June
THE popular Tiger TomCat Street Festival returns this June, bringing – organisers say – “true spirit to Limerick” with a wide variety of activities.
Thomas Street and Catherine Street, AKA TomCat, host the “festival of the curious mind” again this year. Expect an even more jam-packed and creative line-up than ever before, with the festival launching on Thursday, June 2, at 5pm in Anne Street Garden.
The organisers have given us a sneak preview of the highlights of the June 2 – 5 festival, with music, Tibetan bowls, Tai Chi, street theatre, flash mobs, hip hop dancing and short film screenings all taking place.
“From musicians, to artists, crafts to sports, poetry to printing, the Tiger TomCat Street festival Limerick has something to offer to everyone,” said a spokesperson.
“The festival continues in true party style late into the night in the fantastic restaurants and pubs that the TomCat area has to offer with a broad selection of live music and DJs laid on for the weekend.”
In just a flavour of highlights, the ICO will perform a micro concert, while Simon Thompson performs his clown stage show and Baz Burke and his hip hop dancing crew perform on the street. See TomCat Street Festival on Facebook for more.
