Speaking about the new space, Mick Dolan said, “We’re thrilled to partner with King John’s Castle and Limerick City and County Council to bring live music into this incredible new space.

“The Castle Suite Sessions will showcase some of Ireland’s finest talent in one of the country’s most unique and historic settings. It’s an exciting new chapter for live music in Limerick, and we’re proud to be part of it,” shared Mick.

Kicking off the Castle Suite sessions this December will be Paddy Casey on Saturday, December 6, followed by Mundy on Friday, December 12, and Jerry Fish on Saturday, December 13.

The Opera Workshop  is also inviting audiences to step into the magic of Christmas with Opera and Carols, two enchanting concerts taking place in the new Castle Suite.

On Saturday, December 6  these festive performances promise an unforgettable blend of favourite carols, timeless songs, and exquisite opera highlights.

Each hour-long concert features an uplifting programme of music and storytelling performed by acclaimed Limerick artists, including sopranos Róisín Walsh, Tríona Walsh, mezzo-soprano Sarah-Ellen Murphy, and pianist Aoife Moran.

The concerts will be presented by Shirley Keane, Opera Workshop’s founder and artistic director.

“Opera Workshop has always delighted in bringing audiences together through beautiful music and a touch of festive fun,” says Shirley.

“King John’s Castle provides the perfect setting, it’s Limerick’s heart, full of history and magic, and the ideal backdrop for our Christmas celebration.”

With two performances of a 3pm matinee and a 6pm early evening show, the Opera and Carols offers the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family, soak in the historic beauty of King John’s Castle, and celebrate the spirit of the season through music.

Tickets for all these gigs and shows are on sale now on Ticketmaster.ie and dolans.ie.
