Holly Franklin is all smiles as she makes crafts for Friday’s fair
RTÉ want to make it a Toy Show Day this Friday and you can definitely get in the festive mood ahead of watching the Late Late Show by attending St Gabriel’s School Christmas cakes, coffee and crafts fair.
It takes place in the Dooradoyle school (V94PY90) from 10am to noon. The morning will feature live music, monster raffle, Irish dancing, cakes, coffee, crafts and lashings of Christmas cheer.
All funds raised will support extra curricular activities at the school.
Sinead O’Brien, of St Gabriel’s School Parents Association, said it is a special needs school that caters for boys and girls with complex physical and complex medical needs.
“Our children travel from north Cork to south of Galway - a radius of over 65km. We are in a unique position of having six nursing staff which helps our children to attend school,” said Ms O’Brien.
However, they have no hall for the school and “insufficient space for children with severe complex needs to mobilise”.
“The only space available is the outdoor space which we are now aiming to cover with pergolas to make it a dry space during our rainy days.
“Unfortunately, there is no extra funding being provided to meet these needs, so as parents we are aiming to raise €25,000 to build covered pergolas,” said Ms O’Brien, who looks forward to welcoming everyone to a very important festive fundraising day this Friday, December 6.
“All support would be appreciated. We look forward to seeing you there,” said Ms O'Brien.
