Anne Hathaway had compared drinking Guinness to "drinking a loaf of bread".
At the age of 19, the actress filmed Ella Enchanted in Ireland - where she had a pint of Guinness for the first time.
According to Hathaway, the Black Stuff is what she loves most about the country.
"My heart beats for Ireland. And then, of course, when you ask me about it, I'm just like 'Guinness'," she told TodayFM.
"I'm sorry to say the most cliched answer, but when I worked there when I was 19 years old, I discovered Guinness. I also discovered you don't start drinking it until the last week of the film, which is like drinking a loaf of bread," she said.
The Hollywood star said she loved working in Ireland.
"I think I learned there, I had a gas (time) while I was there. Really, really beautiful memories that are a little hazy because it was Ireland," she added.
