Storm Lilian now seems to be going on to ruin a bank holiday weekend in the UK, but she leaves some sunny spells in her wake here in Ireland.
Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly has predicted "nice bright spells to start Friday with a mix of sunny spells and heavy scattered showers following".
Met Éireann are forecasting some heavy or prolonged with hail and isolated thunderstorms over Friday night, especially in the northwest, with spot flooding possible but these will mostly clear by Saturday morning.
