Storm Jocelyn bearing down on Ireland as Met Éireann issue orange level warnings

Just as Storm Isha passes, another storm is on the horizon - according to Met Éireann's latest weather update.

A Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal as 'Storm Jocelyn' approaches. The weather warning, which is valid from 6pm on Tuesday (January 23) until 2am on Wednesday (January 24), could bring large coastal waves, very difficult travelling conditions and fallen trees.

A Status Orange wind warning has also been issued for Galway and Mayo. The weather warning is in place from 6pm on Tuesday until 12am on Wednesday. Met Éireann say "Storm Jocelyn will bring very strong southwest to west winds with severe and damaging gusts."

Also on Tuesday, a Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Roscommon, Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Kerry, Galway and Mayo.

Today (Monday, January 22), a Status Yellow wind warning for Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo remains in place until 7pm this evening. Met Éireann reports that "very strong and gusty westerly winds" will hit those counties.
