Art exhibition in Limerick to explore ‘all that is raw and alive’

Carnal Echos will be hosted by The People's Museum of Limerick for a total of four days

AN “IMMERSIVE and memorable” art exhibition which explores the nature of all that is raw and alive is set to take place in Limerick.

Carnal Echos is a collection of works that draws inspiration from the absurdity of pulsating forms. Made up of mostly paintings and prints, some sculptures are included.

Taking place in the People’s Museum of Limerick from Saturday, February 22 to Friday, February 28, the Limerick-based co-curators Emma Mulrooney and Kate Smith are hosting an exhibition that they believe will be “well worth seeing”.

“The exhibition explores the nature of all that is raw and alive, and its relentless rhythms of growth and decline,” Emma said.

“This collection aims to shed light on the instinctual currents that arouse persistence in the bodily structure.

“Open to all members of the public, we aim to create an immersive and memorable experience of captivating sound and visuals.”

All other artists featured are also Limerick-based, including that of Austėja Stukaitė, Rebecca David, Anzelika Lepika, Josh Brown, Ruby Hale, Ludovica Mele, Jack Conway, Emer McMahon and Beck Richins.

“As up-and-coming artists, we are thrilled to be able to showcase our work in the People's Museum, a space rich with the culture and history of Limerick city,” Emma continued.

“It has been an amazing opportunity to co-curate together, and the body of work we have accumulated for the show is one that we believe is well worth seeing.”
