Tommy Barrett's side have been on an unfortunate run of late and a win at Bishopsgate this evening would certainly come as a much needed boost for the Shannonsiders.
Treaty haven't registered a win since July 11, with the Limerick side finding themselves luckless at times.
Their last win came in a Munster derby last month when goals from Connor Wilson and Mark Byrne gave saw Treaty defeat Cobh 2-1 at the Markets Field.
Since then Barrett's side were beaten in the FAI Cup by high-flying Derry City, held to a draw in Lissywollen by Athlone Town, beaten by Bray Wanderes in the most controversial of circumstances at the Carlisle Grounds, before conceding late on to Kerry FC on Monday night at the Markets Field, earning 'The Kingdom' a 1-1 draw.
Whilst results may not have been fruitful for Treaty in this period, the management can take the positives from new signings like Brian Cunnigham and Patrick Ferry.
Both Ferry and Cunnigham scored on their debuts against Athlone Town earlier this month, earning Treaty a 2-2 draw in Lissywollen.
Ferry continued his fine form in front of goal on Monday night with a superb headed effort against Kerry FC, the former Finn Harps striker quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst the home support.
“He really worked his socks off for us tonight, it was a really good finish by him and he's done really well since joining us,” said Tommy Barrett after his side's draw on Monday.
Although Treaty have been unfortunate not to accrue more points in this period, a win over Longford Town is much needed on Saturday night in order to keep the chasing pack at arm's length.
Treaty currently sit in fifth place in the First division table, just inside the play-off positions.
The Shannonsiders sit on 35 points with Wexford Town being their nearest challengers on 30 points in sixth place.
Finn Harps, Kerry FC and Longford Town all sit just behind Wexford on 25 points each, which makes the race for the play-off positions all the more exciting between now and the end of the season.
A win for Treaty would give them some much needed breathing room ahead of the last ten games of the season.
With leaders Dundalk set to visit the Markets Field in two weeks time, Tommy Barrett and his charges will be eyeing all three points when they travel to the Midlands on Saturday.
Longford currently sit second from bottom in the First Division table and are winless in their last three outings, losing to the current top three in Dundalk, Cobh and Bray.
Treaty will be hoping for a repeat of the last time the two sides met at the Markets Field in May.
Treaty produced a five-star performance to dispatch the midlanders' 5-1.
The industrious Lee Devitt left the Markets Field with the match ball that night after bagging a hat-trick, followed by goals from Trpimir Vrljicak and the recently departed Yoyo Mahdy.
Speaking in the aftermath of his side's draw with Kerry FC on Monday night, Treaty boss Tommy Barrett spoke of the challenge that Longford Town will pose.
“It's going to be tough, we say it every week that we've got to be better, we've got to move the ball quicker and we've got to be better in possession. We've got to go up there now and see can we get the three points,” he said.
