Treaty United were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Kerry FC in the SSE Airtricity League First Division on Monday night.

Treaty came into this evening's game off the back of a controversial 3-2 defeat away to Bray Wanderers in the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night.

Both teams struggled to grab a foothold on the game in the first-half, with the windy conditions making life difficult for both sets of attack.

Treaty, aided by that strong wind in the opening 45', found success via balls over the top. Lee Devitt almost grabbed the lead for the home side after 2 minutes, the midfielder's chipped effort almost deceiving O'Connor in the Kerry FC net.

The visitors almost took an early lead themselves when Oran Crowe flashed a free across the six-yard box in the 12th minute.

The midfielder's cross begged a touch, but there was no one in a yellow jersey to finish to the back of Corey Chambers' net.

The busy Lee J Lynch was dropping deep from midfield for the home side, looking to make things tick for the Shannonsiders until injury forced him off in the 24th minute.

Chances were few and far between for both teams as the half wore on. Mark Byrne nearly gave Treaty the lead on the half-hour mark when a stray shot hit the head of the striker, the ball just falling to the side of O'Connor's post.

Treaty were beginning to mount some pressure and the industrious Lee Devitt almost gave his side the lead moments later.

After neat trickery from the attacking midfielder on the edge of Kerry's box, the 25-year-old tried to again chip O'Connor, this effort, just like his first, coming agonisingly close to giving the Limerick side the lead.

Both teams traded bouts of possession in the closing stages of the half before referee John Walsh blew for half-time, the two sides deadlocked at 0-0.

The wind showed no signs of letting up in the second 45. Kerry captain Ronan Teahan should've given Colin Healy's side the lead after 50 minutes. An in-swinging corner hung in the air at the back post for the midfielder but he was unable to convert.

Steven Healy dragged an effort just wide for Treaty moments later after a sustained period of pressure from the Shannonsiders.

Just as the game appeared to be heading into a bit of a lull on the hour mark, the Markets Field erupted into life when new signing Patrick Ferry bagged yet another goal since his move from Finn Harps.

Evan O'Connor whipped in an inch perfect cross from the right flank for Treaty's number nine to head home. Ferry quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst the home support.

Chances continued to come at a premium for both sides and Kerry almost levelled matters after 80 minutes when Oran Crowe delivered yet another sublime cross into the Treaty box.

This time it was Ewan Lee who was unable to convert his headed effort from close range.

The 22-year-old made up for his missed headed opportunity minutes later after a long throw-in deep into the Treaty box caused consternation for the Shannonsiders.

Lee was on hand to convert from close range, poking home in front of a rapturous Kerry FC support.

Tempers flared deep into stoppage time when Treaty substitute Dean Owens stopped a swift Kerry counter by dragging down the onrushing Sean McGrath.

That is where the excitement ended for both team as John Walsh sounded his whistle for full-time moments later.

Next up for Treaty United is a trip to Bishopsgate to face Longford Town on Saturday where they will be hoping to get back to winning ways.
