TREATY United have received a double boost with news that key squad members Lee Devitt and Corey Chambers have re-signed for the club for the 2025 SSE Airtricity League First Division season.
Devitt enters his fourth season with the club and is coming off the back of his best ever season with Treaty United as ten goals and six assists saw him win the Members’ Player of the Season award for the second consecutive year.
Lee Devitt joined the club from Cobh Ramblers ahead of the 2022 season and has been an important part of Tommy Barrett’s midfield ever since. The 24-year-old has accumulated a remarkable 114 appearances – just one behind all-time leader Stephen Christopher.
Devitt told TreatyUnitedFC.com: “I am absolutely delighted to be back, I love being here and working under Tommy and the staff, it’s a great environment for me to learn and improve as a player. I can’t wait to continue the journey and get back playing in front of our fans at the Markets Field on Friday nights under the lights.”
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Tommy Barrett said: “I’m delighted to have Lee back for 2025. He’s only 24 but is really experienced for his age with almost 200 senior appearances. Lee had a great season last year and we’ll be hoping to push him on further next season. He’s a great professional and will be a great leader for the group too.”
Goalkeeper Corey Chambers enters his second full season with the club having joined Tommy Barrett’s squad midway through the 2023 season.
The Wexford native is the longest-serving goalkeeper in the history of the Senior Men’s side with 48 appearances while also boasting an impressive 14 clean sheets – more than any other goalkeeper to have played for the club.
Chambers told TreatyUnitedFC.com: “I’m delighted to be back for the new season! I’m really looking forward to improving both on and off the pitch as a club.”
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Senior Men’s Manager Tommy Barrett said: “It’s great to have Corey back for next season and he brings great experience to our squad at 27 years of age and being around the league with a while. Corey is another great professional to have around the squad and will be another leader amongst them.”
