EXCITING Limerick teenager Madison McGuane has scooped the prestigious Under-15 Girls’ FAI Schools International Player of the Year accolade at the 34th FAI International Awards at the Aviva Stadium.

McGuane, of Ardscoil Mhuire, Corbally, is a member of Treaty United's U17 squad.

Highly-rated teenager Madison represented Ardscoil Mhuire in the FAI Schools competition and on the international team.

It rounds off an incredible year for the former Pike Rovers star who joined the Treaty United WU17 squad at the start of the year and quickly established herself at League of Ireland level with power-house midfield performances contributing goals and
assists for her side.

At just 15, she has already captained the U15 Girls FAI Schools and the Rep of Ireland Girls U16 international teams.

On Monday, the Limerick teenager left for Spain to compete in the UEFA Women's Under 17 Championship Euro Qualifiers with the Rep of Ireland WU17 squad. The Rep of Ireland will play Spain, Austria and Denmark in the competition.

McGuane's performances meant that she was also on a short-list of three players for the U16 international player of the year for 2024, a remarkable achievement.

Treaty United congratulated Madison McGuane on her award.

Club CEO, Ciara McCormack, said she was a deserving winner of the award: “The club is so proud of Madison. Her work ethic and humility makes her a role model for the entire club and she is so deserving of this incredible achievement.”
