CO TIPPERARY
Captain’s Dinner: It was wonderful to be back in the Venue Dundrum House for the Captain’s Dinner after a break of two years due to lock down. He said he especially wanted to wish our Lady Captain Niamh Chadwick a speedy recovery and hoped to see her out on the fairways very soon.
He paid tribute to outgoing President Kathleen O’Neill and said it was a pleasure to have her as President during his tenure as Captain, and her advice was always greatly welcomed. Kathleen he said is a long standing member who has made a big contribution to golf in our club over the years.
Captain Brian also welcomed our new president Paddy Fitzgerald. Paddy who is a past Captain of the club was announced as our President for the next two years by outgoing president Kathleen O’Neill who wished him well over the next two years. Captain Brian praised all those who worked so hard to make the golf experience in Dundrum such a wonderful success.
Starting with the proprietor Jeff Leo with whom he developed an excellent working relationship over the year. He thanked Jeff for the huge expenditure on our fantastic Golf Course and Clubhouse. Brian made particular reference to the completion of the first phase of the new irrigation system & the state of the art Driving Range which is in the final stage of completion. He praised our Green keeper Brian Webster and his staff for the excellent progress on the golf course over the past year. Brian also made reference to the sad passing staff member Davy Heelan RIP during the year.
Captain Brian was particularly complementary to our Golf Professional Marian Riordan & her staff including twice world champion speed golfer Robert Hogan, Mary Lonergan in the Golf Shop and also Eoin Tobin who moved to another profession during the year.
