Limerick champions Adare who have reached the 2022 AIB Junior Club Camogie Championship semi-finals
LIMERICK and Munster champions Adare powered their way into the 2022 AIB All-Ireland Junior Club Camogie Championship semi-finals after securing an exciting 3-8 to 0-9 victory over Tara, of London, at McGovern Park, Ruislip, London on Saturday afternoon.
Adare's reward for this excellent victory is an All-Ireland semi-final meeting with the Ulster representatives on Sunday, December 11 at Edenderry GAA Club at 1pm.
Should Adare win through in their semi-final, the side would be involved in the 2022 AIB All-Ireland Junior Club Camogie Championship final on the weekend of December 17-18.
After an evenly-contested opening half in Ruislip on Saturday, the sides turned over level at half-time, Adare 1-3, Tara 0-6. Limerick and Munster champions Adare had trailed by four points, 0-2 to 0-6, before Aeibhín Houlihan struck for a crucial goal.
Before that goal, Adare's scores had come from points from Poppy Giltenane and a pointed free from Limerick senior camogie star, Caoimhe Costello.
A point from Carla Griffin after the restart helped Adare hit the front at 1-4 to 0-6.
A second goal from Aeibhín Houlihan and two further pointed frees from All-Star nominee Costello helped Adare gain a degree of control on the contest.
Further points from Costello and Annie Giltenane helped the Limerick side move into a seven point lead, 2-8 to 0-7.
Adare sealed their passage into the semi-finals when Poppy Giltenane struck for a third goal for the winners.
