AFTER a three-year absence the 33rd staging of the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International returned to the Santry Demesne, Dublin.

All three Limerick athletes were part of the victorious Irish M40 team on 16pts, with Scotland 2nd on 30. Dymphyna Ryan was 9th overall and 3rd F40 in 21:18 over 6K. She was part of the Irish Team which just lost out to England for first place by 13 pts to 14.
UL academic and Dooneen AC member Anne MacPhail (F50) was 53rd overall for Scotland in 23:16. Carmel MacDomhnaill was 11th F65 and 17th overall in the F65+ Race. Ireland topped the points table overall in both Women’s and Men’s competitions and were therefore overall event winners.
