THE quarter-finals of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup continue this Wednesday when Crescent College Comprehensive face a trip to Cork to take on Bandon Grammar School.

The last eight clash takes place at Musgrave Park at 2.45pm.

Crescent College earned their place in the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a 15-5 victory over Glenstal Abbey in the opening round.

The Dooradoyle side laid the foundation for this win over gritty opponents in the opening half after which they held a sizeable 10-0 advantage.

Second row Cian Kirby grabbed the Crescent try, while full-back Conor O'Halloran added a conversion and penalty goal. Crescent also managed a second half try through their lively scrum-half Jamie Duggan.

Crescent's quarter-final meeting with Bandon Grammar School is the second fixture on a Junior Cup double header at Musgrave Park as Rockwell College face Presentation Brothers College at 12.30pm.

The Munster Schools Junior Cup quarter-finals will be completed on Friday when holders St Munchin’s College take on Christian Brothers College at Thomond Park, 2pm, in a repeat of last season's final.

Castletroy College have already booked their place in the semi-finals of the Munster Schools Junior Cup on Tuesday when easing past local rivals Ardscoil Ris 26-15 in their quarter-final tie at Thomond Park.
