LIMERICK teenager Ciara Neville has been selected for the Ireland team which competes at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow from March 1-3.
Eighteen-year-old Neville achieved the Athletics Ireland European Indoor standard when finishing second in the women’s 60m final at the Irish Life Health National Indoor Athletics Championships in Abbotstown on Sunday.
Neville clocked a time of 7.40, behind race winner Molly Scott, of SLOT, who ran a personal best time of 7.32 seconds.
This will be the second successive year for Emerald AC athlete Neville, from Monaleen, to compete in the European Indoor Championship.
The Limerick teenager reached the semi-final of the 60m in the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade 12 months ago, in her first international senior championship.
Neville clocked 7.49 in her semi-final 12 months aho to miss out on progressing to the final.

The Limerick athlete had finished fourth in her heat in a time of 7.46 to qualify automatically for the semi-finals.
Ireland will send a 16-strong team of athletes to the European Indoors in Glasgow at the start of next month.
