Clifford recently completed a six-month worldwide ban from football for ‘betting offences.’
The offences were committed in the UK and investigated by the Football Association there.
Clifford admitted to 112 breaches of FA Rule E8, which prohibits players betting on football activity. The player has fined £600 by the FA and suspended for six months.
The suspension ended on April 2, 2018.
Clifford joined Dundalk at the beginning of 2017, having spent the previous decade in England, initially with Chelsea.
He spent four years at the Stamford Bridge club without making a senior appearance before spells with the likes of Plymouth, Yeovil, Notts County, Portsmouth, Crawley, Leicester, Southend, Barnet and Boreham Wood.
BARRETT: "We have a light squad and when a player of Conor's ability becomes available it is great to be able to have him. Hopefully he can kick-start his career again from here."
