Limerick GAA focus turns to club football championship

THE Limerick GAA focus switches from the club hurling front to club football next weekend.

There is a full round of games scheduled in the Limerick SFC and IFC.

The six senior games take place over Thursday, Friday and Saturday – all with 6.30 starts.

No one brings a 100% record into the round four games but St Kierans, Monaleen and Fr Caseys are all undefeated.

On Thursday evening Rathkeale play Ballysteen in Newcastle West. Ballysteen are without a win, while Rathkeale will know that another win can push them towards the knockout stages.

The other Thursday game is in the other group – champions Newcastle West playing Pallasgreen in Kilmallock. Newcastle West will bid to bounce back from the loss to Rathkeale in the previous round. 

There are three games on Friday.

2014 champions Ballylanders seek a first win when they play Oola in Bruff. In Kilmallock Dromcollogher-Broadford face St Patricks.

In Askeaton is the meeting of undefeated Monaleen and Fr Caseys, A win for either side will book a semi final spot.

On Saturday, Na Piarsaigh turn their attention to football when they play St Kierans in Ballingarry.

The final round of games in the Limerick SFC will take place the following weekend; September 1-3.
