GAA officials confirm Limerick SHC round three fixtures

LIMERICK GAA officials have confirmed that round three of the Credit Union Limerick SHC will be going ahead.

The scheduled games are for May 27-29 – the same weekend that the Limerick footballers are in Munster championship action and just three weeks before the hurlers are in inter-county action.

All Ireland champions Na Piarsaigh now face three must-win games after successive defeats over the last two weekends.

Shane O’Neill's side have seen their odds moved from 5/6 to 2/1 on the back of losses to Kilmalock and Doon.

The Caherdavin men must now beat Bruree, South Liberties and Ballybrown in their final three group games if they are to reach the quarter finals.

Na Piarsaigh are one of just three teams in the championship without a point after two rounds of action.

Next up for Na Piarsaigh is a clash with Bruree on Saturday May 28 in Clarina.

Ahead of round three, Kilmallock, Doon, Ballybrown and Adare are the leading contenders for the Daly Cup with back-to-back wins.

Undefeated Kilmallock and Ballybrown meet in the next round on Saturday May 28 in Bruff. Kilmallock’s odds have been cut from 5/1 to 5/1.

The third game in this group will be a Friday May 27 meeting of Doon and South Liberties in Caherconlish. Doon started the championship at 6/1 but are now priced at 9/2.

In the other group, Adare are the only side with two wins. In round three they play Murroe-Boher on Sunday May 29 in Claughaun.

At the same time in Bruff, last season’s beaten finalists Patrickswell will play Knockainey.

The third game in this group will be Ahane against Bruff on Friday May 27 in Claughaun.

All round three senior hurling games take place the same weekend that the Limerick footballers are in Munster SFC action against Clare in the Gaelic Grounds.

With TJ Ryan’s Limerick senior hurlers in Munster SHC action on June 19, the club championship will break after round three until August 18-21 for round four.
