Gary Waddock makes losing start for Wealdstone as Morecambe hit back to win

Gary Waddock’s first game in charge of Wealdstone ended in defeat as Jack Nolan bagged a brace to earn Morecambe a 3-2 win at Grosvenor Vale.

Having signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, Waddock saw his new side make a flying start as Olufela Olomola put them head in the third minute from a free-kick.

Chris Popov drew Morecambe level in the 34th minute before Nolan nudged the visitors ahead in first-half stoppage time and then extended their advantage in the 58th minute.

Micah Obiero pulled a goal back for Wealdstone with 17 minutes remaining, but Morecambe held on for the win despite going down to 10 men in the 85th minute when Lewis Payne was sent off after a second yellow card.
