Charley Kendall cancelled out Rekeil Pyke’s opener to salvage a point for hosts Southend from a 1-1 draw with Truro.
Pyke opened the scoring with a patient finish two minutes after the half hour, while Tinners goalkeeper Aidan Stone denied Andy Dallas a late first-half equaliser and George Cooper cleared the follow-up off the line.
The Shrimpers failed to finish from a few early second-half chances before Kendall finally drew the sides level in the 52nd minute.
Harry Boyes nearly fired the hosts in front when his effort bounced off a post, the goal frame also denied Southend’s Gus Scott-Morriss, and there was a big Stone save late on to ensure the sides would share the points.
