Steve Cotterill hailed his Cheltenham side’s resolve as they held league leaders Bromley to a 1-1 draw at Hayes Lane.
Bromley had taken an early lead through Mitch Pinnock but that was cancelled out midway through the first half by Isaac Hutchinson’s equaliser.
Cotterill said: “With the opportunities we had, I felt we could have had more than a point today. Especially in the first half we worked some brilliant opportunities which perhaps we could have taken.
“Overall though, I am delighted with the lads. We’ve had two back-to-back tough games and knew we had to defend our box really well and we did that really well tonight.
“We’ve had some good moments tonight both offensively and defensively. I’m slightly disappointed we didn’t win it but if we had been offered a point before the game we would have taken it.
“We had a big back four tonight and they knew they would have to stand up to a Bromley onslaught and it was very impressive how they dealt with it.”
Bromley manager Andy Woodman said: “I thought we started well but we took our foot off the gas as if we thought it was going to be an easy night, we made some fundamental errors and that gave Cheltenham a foothold in the game.
“I thought we dropped off 10 per cent and once you do that, it can be very hard to get back to the level you need to be at and it became a difficult night for us to navigate.
“That said, their keeper pulled off a couple of brilliant saves at the end which could have been a great finale. I just felt we didn’t really put the ball on the back of them well and the distances between our back and front line was too wide. So we now have a different problem to solve.”
