Leaders Bromley held by promotion rivals Notts County

Automatic promotion rivals Bromley and Notts County had to settle for a share of the spoils at Hayes Lane, a result that maintains Bromley’s four-point lead at the top of League Two.

In a first half of very few incidents it took until just before the half-hour mark for the game to spring to life when Mitchell Pinnock’s free-kick was headed in, Michael Cheek attempting to claim it though it was recorded as an own goal by County’s Matthew Dennis.

The Magpies were level six minutes into the second half when Jodi Jones was brought down by Marcus Ifill before smashing home the resultant penalty himself.

Jones nearly had a second on the hour mark but his low shot was well saved by Grant Smith.

With neither side able to truly impose themselves on proceedings, County were reduced to 10 men with Scott Robertson receiving his second yellow card for a foul on Jude Arthurs.

Despite a numerical advantage for the remaining seven minutes and an additional seven of stoppage time, Bromley could find no way through the County backline.
