Omar Bugiel bags quick brace as Wimbledon and Barnsley draw in six-goal thriller

Barnsley squandered a two-goal lead before dramatically equalising late on in an end-to-end 3-3 League One draw with AFC Wimbledon, who saw Omar Bugiel score a brace.

Bugiel struck twice in three minutes in the first half to cancel out David McGoldrick and Tom Bradshaw’s goals, before Marcus Browne thought he had given the away side all three points, only for Scott Banks to level the scores late on.

McGoldrick opened the scoring in the 10th minute after Reyes Cleary beat two men before laying the ball on a plate for the veteran striker.

Barnsley doubled their lead just four minutes later through Bradshaw, who scored his first goal for the Reds since signing on deadline day.

But Bugiel halved the deficit after 25 minutes before heading in to equalise, just two minutes later.

The home side had chances to take the lead in the second half but it was Wimbledon’s Browne who put the Dons in front after 74 minutes as he tapped into an empty net to send the away end wild.

But Banks levelled in the 87th minute, firing home from close range to rescue a point for Barnsley.
