A Davis Keillor-Dunn double sank Stevenage to a fourth straight away defeat in League One as Barnsley pulled away from the relegation zone with a 3-1 win.
Dan Kemp had halved the deficit after David McGoldrick and Keillor-Dunn put the Reds 2-0 up but the sought-after Barnsley striker scored his 13th league goal of the season to seal the victory in the second half.
McGoldrick, who had seen a goal ruled out for offside in the opening minute, capitalised on some poor defending from Carl Piergianni to open the scoring in the 14th minute.
Keillor-Dunn doubled his side’s lead in the 31st minute, carrying the ball through the Stevenage defence and sliding the ball in off the post.
The visitors pulled one back six minutes later after Jamie Reid latched onto a misplaced Luca Connell pass before laying it off to Kemp to score.
But Keillor-Dunn restored Barnsley’s two-goal lead in the 48th minute, beating keeper Filip Marschall to the ball and firing into an empty net.
