Emmanuel Adegboyega celebrated a dream debut as his late goal earned Rotherham their first League One win since November in a narrow 2-1 comeback victory against fellow strugglers Northampton.
Leeds loanee Harry Gray’s second-half header cancelled out former Rotherham striker Tom Eaves’ opener but it was new signing Adegboyega who sealed the victory for the Millers late on.
The Cobblers opened the scoring in the 27th minute after Jon Guthrie found Eaves in the six-yard box and he made no mistake as he calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
Dean Campbell struck the crossbar directly from a corner before the break for the away side but it was the Millers who scored next after Gray headed in Joe Powell’s corner in the 58th minute.
Substitute Adegboyega was in the right place at the right time for Rotherham as he headed home in the 84th minute to give the Millers their first league win since November 8.
