Inverness extended their lead at the top of League One with a 4-0 win over Hamilton.

Mitchell Robertson headed in an early opener, with Chanka Zimba adding another just before half-time.

Substitutes Alfie Bavidge and Billy McKay added further goals in the second half as Caley Thistle wrapped up a dominant display to move five points clear of Alloa, who were beaten 1-0 at home by Queen of South.

Kurtis Guthrie put the visitors in front after 12 minutes and substitute Liam Smith struck a late second to send the Doonhamers up to fourth.

Substitute Gregor Nicol scored with five minutes left to snatch East Fife a 1-0 win at strugglers Cove Rangers to put them fifth.

Peterhead beat bottom club Kelty Hearts 3-2 with a late goal from Jason Brown at Balmoor Stadium, where the home side had seen midfielder Flynn Duffy sent off early in the second half.

Callum Sandilands scored twice to help in-form Montrose beat Stenhousemuir 3-0 at Links Park, with Graham Webster having given the Gable Endies an early lead.

In League Two, leaders East Kilbride slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Dumbarton.

First-half goals from Dom Docherty and Mark Durnan were enough for the Sons, who ended a run of three straight league defeats.

Stirling drew 1-1 at second-placed Spartans with a late goal from Corey Thomson to edge them further clear of bottom club Edinburgh City, who were beaten 4-1 at home by Clyde.

Greig Allen had given City hope with an equaliser just before half-time to cancel out Kyle Fleming’s opener.

Kyle Connell, though, struck twice after the break and Marley Redfern’s stoppage-time goal extended Clyde’s unbeaten run as they closed to within two points of East Kilbride.

Scot Rough scored in added time to give Stranraer a 2-1 win at Elgin, who had Russ Dingwall sent off with 20 minutes left.

Annan came from behind to beat Forfar 3-1 at Galabank with second-half goals from Josh Dixon, Charlie Maxwell and Ryan Muir.
