A second-half brace from Josh McPake helped St Johnstone come from behind to record a 4-2 victory away to Ayr and strengthen their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship.
Mark McKenzie sent the hosts ahead only eight minutes in, latching onto a loose ball outside of the area and firing home before Jamie Murphy doubled their lead with a tap-in, five minutes later.
St Johnstone pulled one back two minutes after the break when Matty Foulds flicked the ball home at the back post and McPake equalised in the 77th minute, smashing the ball into the roof of the net.
The winger completed the Saints’ comeback in the 88th minute with another high finish and Kai Fotheringham made the game safe with a low strike in the second minute of added time.
