Thoughts turn to Limerick at Christmas with Oscars Brother

There could be more memorable days ahead for Oscars Brother after his Florida Pearl victory for brothers Connor and Daniel King.

The seven-year-old went off the 7-4 favourite for the Grade Two and certainly did not disappoint, winning by three lengths in a field that included smart horses like Rocky’s Diamond and Koktail Divin.

The triumph was another move along the upwards trajectory his career is following and was a real red-letter day for the small Cashel operation of trainer and jockey Connor and Daniel, with a Grade One assignment now a possibility later in the month.

“He’s in very good form and came out of the race well, he just seems like he’s improving every time and he takes his racing very well,” said Connor King.

“He’s entered in the Faugheen novice chase at Limerick at Christmas, that’s pretty much the only option for him over Christmas, so we’ll see how the next few weeks go.

“I think he could get further and I definitely think that would suit him in time.”

Reflecting on the Florida Pearl victory, the trainer added: “It’s unbelievable, really, and we hope we’re not finished yet. Hopefully we’re only just getting started.”
