Championship leaders locked together after double stalemate

St Johnstone and Partick Thistle remain locked together at the top of the Scottish Championship table after both were held to goalless draws.

St Johnstone had hoped to return to winning ways after losing to Thistle last time out in the league and then Cove Rangers in the cup but they could not break down Raith Rovers, with Jamie Gullan hitting the post late on.

Thistle headed to Ayr and also played out a stalemate as their run of three straight wins came to an end.

Arbroath climbed above Ayr into third place, nine points behind the leading two, after coming from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory at Dunfermline.

Barney Stewart put the hosts ahead in the 61st minute but Brooklyn Kabongolo headed in the equaliser 15 minutes from time and then won the game with another header in the fourth minute of injury time.

In the big game at the bottom, Ross County slipped to the foot of the table after losing 2-1 to Airdrieonians.

Goals from Gavin Gallagher and Euan Henderson in the second half put Airdrie two up, and they held on after Jay Henderson pulled one back with seven minutes to go.
