Cameron O’Donnell’s second-half equaliser salvaged Alloa a 1-1 home draw against William Hill League 1 leaders Inverness.
Luis Longstaff fired the visitors ahead just before the interval before defender O’Donnell hauled third-placed Alloa level as they extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to nine matches.
Inverness, deducted five points after going into administration last year, stretched their lead at the top to four points, but were denied a fifth straight league win.
Danny Devine went close with a header for Inverness and Adam Mackinnon’s close-range effort was well saved by Alloa goalkeeper Liam McFarlane before the visitors took a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time.
Paul Allan played in Longstaff on the right side of the penalty area and the former Liverpool youth-team midfielder dispatched a shot into the bottom corner.
Inverness continued to dominate early in the second half, but Alloa wrestled back some control and equalised with a rare effort on target in the 74th minute when O’Donnell rammed home a loose ball in the area following a corner.
