Promotion hopefuls Crewe and Chesterfield played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Mornflake Stadium.
James Berry fired the Spireites ahead early on, with Lee Bonis doubling the lead with a clinical finish.
Crewe hit back either side of the break through Emre Tezgel’s penalty and a Calum Agius strike, only for Dilan Markanday to fire in a third for the visitors. James Connolly then headed home Crewe’s equaliser.
Berry curled a right-footed effort into the far corner past goalkeeper Tom Booth to start the entertainment in the ninth minute.
Bonis was then on the end of Markanday’s cutback to sweep home Chesterfield’s second at the near post after 24 minutes.
Tezgel reduced the arrears after his initial effort had been pushed away by Zach Hemming. Chey Dunkley tripped Owen Lunt, leaving the Stoke loanee to convert from the penalty spot.
Shortly after the restart, Agius raced in to meet Tezgel’s cross with a firm far-post header, but Markanday restored Chesterfield’s lead when he volleyed home following Dylan Duffy’s free-kick in the 65th minute.
But Crewe were level again in the 69th minute when defender Connolly glanced in a header from Max Sanders’ corner, and Reece Hutchinson and Tezgel went close to winning it with late efforts.
