Relegation rivals share spoils as Sutton hit back at Morecambe

Sutton produced a stunning late turnaround to fight back from 2-0 down and draw 2-2 at National League relegation rivals Morecambe.

Goals from Lewis Simper and Ashley Nadesan in the space of three minutes stunned the hosts and kept them below Sutton in the table.

Morecambe looked to be moving out of the bottom four after Miguel Azeez volleyed them ahead in first-half stoppage time and Jake Cain added a second five minutes after the break with an effort from the edge of the area.

But Sutton’s fightback started in the 72nd minute when Junior Eccleston was fouled in the box and Simper stroked home the spot-kick, before Nadesan headed home the equaliser two minutes later.
