Bay City Roller could attempt to end his season on a real high, with George Scott considering a trip to Germany for his high-class colt.
Germany has already proven a happy hunting ground this season for the Eve Lodge handler, who saddled subsequent Prix du Cadran winner Caballo De Mar to win the Deutsches St Leger at Dortmund last month.
He is now eyeing a move into Group One company in Munich’s Grosser Preis von Bayern on November 8 for the son of New Bay, who despite not winning this season has held his own against top opposition, including when less than a length behind Arc hero Daryz in June.
“He might have one more start in Germany in the race at Munich,” said Scott. “We will look at that as it will be nice and soft for him and he is very fresh and well. We will have to supplement, but we will have a look.”
The last British trainer to win the Grosser Preis von Bayern was Sir Mark Prescott with his brilliant grey mare Alpinista in 2021, while the Heath House trainer was second with Tiffany 12 months ago.
