Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner warned his team must not allow their “top level” to slip at Everton on Sunday – or they could face the “high risk” of seeing a club-record unbeaten run come to a halt.
The Eagles make a first trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium looking to extend their 19-match streak without defeat through all competitions on the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in their opening Conference League tie in Poland on Thursday night.
Glasner, though, maintained that proud run for the FA Cup winners – who last week pulled off a last-gasp victory over Premier League champions Liverpool at Selhurst Park – would count for nothing if they allowed focus to slip against the Toffees.

“In the Premier League, the players know you need to perform close to your top level, otherwise you have a high risk of losing the game,” Glasner said on the Palace website.
“I don’t think Everton have struggled. They drew against West Ham, they lost a very tight game against Liverpool and I think they had a very good performance against them.
“They have made a few signings, like Jack Grealish, a great player, a fantastic dribbler and I think he is near the top for creating the most chances in the Premier League.
“They have two tall strikers. They have Idrissa Gueye in midfield, playing a fantastic season and a very physical defensive line. They are very threatening with set-plays.
“It will be a good challenge for us. We are looking forward to playing in their new stadium for the first time.
“We always have to accept how the other team is playing and try to use their weaknesses to win the game.”
Glasner said after beating the Ukrainian champions he was not interested in revelling in Palace’s unbeaten run.
The Austrian insisted the approach to every game had always been the same – whether coming in on the back of a win, loss or draw.
“All the credit to the players, because they have to perform on the pitch and they have to work so hard that we can get these results,” Glasner said.

“But honestly, we don’t talk about it (the run) in our meetings, or on the pitch – but yes, we are asked about it more and more.
“The approach is the same. We don’t go to Everton saying ‘let’s just extend the run’, we go there and will try to win the game.
“Every win, every good performance, increases the self-confidence and this is what we can see.”
