Josh Neufville scores again as Bradford march on

Josh Neufville scored for the third consecutive league game to keep Bradford top of League One.

Neufville’s second-half goal sealed a 1-0 win over Blackpool to maintain their perfect record at Valley Parade.

Steve Bruce’s Blackpool suffered their sixth defeat in nine games to remain in the bottom four.

Blackpool, boosted by their late win over Barnsley last week, had possessed a lively threat on the counter up to Bradford’s breakthrough.

Josh Bowler should have done better after bursting into the box before delivering a weak finish straight at home keeper Sam Walker.

Neufville headed over from Tommy Leigh’s cross but Bradford were struggling to break through a resolute Blackpool defence.

Ash Fletcher wasted a dangerous break for the visitors early in the second half – much to the frustration of manager Bruce.

Bradford punished them straight away as Neufville’s low drive flew past Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

The Blackpool goalkeeper saved from substitute Alex Pattison’s long-range effort and Neufville shot into the side-netting as he continued to cause problems from Bradford’s right wing.
