Nicolas Raskin rules out Rangers exit and wants to resolve future

Nicolas Raskin wants to return to Rangers and resolve a “complicated” situation at the Ibrox club.

The 24-year-old Belgium international, who starred for the Light Blues last season, was left out of the goalless Old Firm William Hill Premiership clash at Ibrox before the international break by Gers boss Russell Martin.

Raskin went off on international duty and scored his first goal for the Red Devils in the 6-0 win over Kazakhstan in Brussels on Sunday.

There was speculation about the former Standard Liege player’s future during the latter stages of the transfer window but it came to nothing and the fans’ favourite will soon be back in Glasgow to speak to Martin, who was adamant his relationship with Raskin, who joined the Light Blues in 2023, is not broken.

Raskin was quoted in Dutch language media outlet Voetbalkrant saying: “My situation at the club is complicated. I will return, work hard, and try to get playing time again.

“But it’s not just up to me. I know this is an important year, and I absolutely want to be part of this campaign with Belgium.

“Football is simply a game of ups and downs. I absolutely love Rangers.

“I’ve had some great moments there and have a strong bond with the fans. I always try to give my all.

“A transfer? No, that’s out of the question. I want to continue to resolve this at the club.”
