Morton suffered their first defeat of the William Hill Championship season after four successive draws as Dylan Easton fired 10-man Raith Rovers to a 1-0 victory.
Raith, who suffered their first defeat of the campaign at Partick last time out, were grateful for Joshua Rae’s fingertip save from Nathan Shaw’s long range free-kick midway through the first half.
The Raith custodian had a hand in the game’s decisive moment after 52 minutes as Rae’s long ball into the area was met by Easton, who nodded over James Storer in the Morton goal.
Josh Mullin was red-carded in the 77th minute following a rash lunge on Michael Garrity but Raith held on to move level on points with league leaders St Johnstone, who have played a game less.
