Sam Clucas’ goal completed a first-half fightback as Shrewsbury secured a 3-1 win at Barnet.
The home side took the lead in the 14th minute when Nnamdi Ofoborh floated a cross to Mark Shelton, who guided a right-footed shot into the net.
But Shrewsbury were level moments later after a ricochet in the Barnet defence. Bradley Ihionvien caused problems before the ball fell to the unfortunate Danny Collinge, who inadvertently turned it into his own net.
Midway through the first half, Barnet boss Dean Brennan was sent off for dissent, and shortly afterwards, Shrewsbury took the lead.
Tom Sang did well to keep the ball in play and whipped in a cross that keeper Cieran Slicker could only parry. Ihionvien reacted instinctively to slot home the rebound.
Just before the interval, Clucas delivered a sublime cross that curled into the top corner, stunning the hosts and putting Shrewsbury firmly on their way to a first league win of the season.
