Liverpool sealed a 20th league title while Southampton suffered the most defeats ever in a Premier League season.
Here, the PA news agency takes a statistical look at the 2024-25 top flight.
84 – points total for champions Liverpool.
20 – the Reds matched rivals Manchester United’s record for the most top-flight titles in English football history.
12 and 8 – Arne Slot became the 12th different manager to win the Premier League and the first Dutchman – the eighth nationality represented.
6 – Six Premier League teams have qualified for next season’s Champions League – Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle as the top five finishers, with England’s UEFA co-efficient earning the extra place, and Tottenham by winning the Europa League.
1 – a single point separated the Magpies, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in the battle for the fifth of those places.
3 – all three promoted clubs – Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester – were relegated for only the third time in the Premier League era, but the second in succession.

12 – points for bottom club Southampton, the second fewest in a Premier League season, exceeding only Derby’s 11 in 2007-08.
30 – Saints broke the record for defeats in a Premier League season, previously shared by Ipswich in 1994-95 (in 42 matches), Sunderland in 2005-06, Derby in their 11-point season and Sheffield United in 2020-21, all with 29. Like those Sunderland and Derby teams, they won only once at home.
59 – the combined points of the three relegated teams was the lowest ever, breaking last season’s record of 66. For the eighth time in nine seasons, the bottom three together failed to match the champions’ tally.
4 – Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah equalled Thierry Henry’s record of four Premier League Golden Boots, winning the prize with 29 goals.

18 – Salah added 18 assists to top both charts, only the third player to do so outright, and match the combined record of 47 – set by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole in 42-game seasons.
119 – Kevin De Bruyne departs Manchester City with 119 Premier League assists to his name, behind only Ryan Giggs’ 162 and one of only five players to reach three figures.
23 – Brighton midfielder James Milner appeared in a record 23rd Premier League season.
