Hartlepool denied by Manny Duku as Solihull Moors salvage a point

Manny Duku scored a second-half equaliser as Solihull Moors extended their unbeaten run to three games with a 1-1 Vanarama National League draw at Hartlepool.

Hartlepool goalkeeper Adam Smith made a big save in the opening exchanges to deny Marcel Oakley at the near post.

Adam Campbell sent Mani Dieseruvwe’s assist into the side-netting with a powerful strike, while Jamie Miley fired over the crossbar midway through the first half as Pools looked for an opener.

The hosts’ pressure finally paid off as former Livingston defender Tom Parkes broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the break as he headed home Miley’s cross.

The match was suspended for 10 minutes midway through the second half due to a floodlight failure and – after it resumed – Duku got on the end of John Bostock’s 76th-minute free-kick to rescue a point for Solihull.
